Ministry Description |
Our involved congregation looks for pastoral leadership in 4 areas: preaching and worship leadership, social action and mission, becoming more attractive to young families and expanding our children/youth activities, and pastoral care to members suffering illness or loss. Our Sunday morning services provide opportunities for our congregation’s faith to be enhanced by cogent preaching, music, empathy towards others, and a clarity of what the BIBLE tells us about our world today. We are in the third year of a Ministries Model Congregational Leadership Structure; as we adapt and adjust our functioning under this model, we are looking for a pastor who will collaborate and support us in our efforts. We are aware that searching for a new pastor is also a time for congregational self-reflection and understanding; we intend to pursue this as part of our search process. While we will need “care taking”, we don’t want to limit ourselves to a caretaker interim. We hope to have an interim pastor or transitional pastor who will not only take care of us, both as a congregation and individually, but more importantly maintain our momentum as we grow in faith, reach out to the larger world, and keep our hearts open and minds awake as we seek to follow Jesus. |
