Ministry Description |
Our church values ecumenical relationships and working within and for our community. We see ourselves as a church which embraces all people as our mission states: “To embody God’s powerful love; welcoming all people; weaving deep relationships with Jesus and each other; working, praising, and playing in our towns and world”. This is best symbolized in the Closing Circle that we embrace at the end of each worship service as we all stand connected as one and share in the love of God. It is one of the most profound strengths of our church. We have over 200 years of strength moving forward and among those that we seek to join us, are younger people from our community, and those that can bring wisdom through diversity. Our church is considered an integral part of the community as a source of strength and Christian support. We would like to increase our visibility in our community to reach more people as we create a vision of hope and sustainability. We have a broad and diverse base in relation to education, socioeconomic status and family structure. While we are varied in our political and theological views, we have a deep sense of empathy and caring for each other and our community. |
