Ministry Description Full time or Part time, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. Must be willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends. On call schedule rotation weekly from Monday 8am to Monday 8am. Hospice Chaplain/Chaplain is to provide and/or coordinate requisite spiritual and bereavement care for Cedar Hospice clients. This portion of the position will be a half-time position. In addition, additional chaplaincy may be provided at various locations across Cedar Community. The hospice Chaplain/Chaplain is a trained interdisciplinary team member who provides spiritual and emotional support to terminally ill patients and members of their families. The Hospice Chaplain/Chaplain also fulfills the role of bereavement coordinator and provides and/or coordinates mandated bereavement support for hospice patient families. This position requires the ability to work with people of various religious faiths and cultures. The Hospice Chaplain/Chaplain participates with other members of the interdisciplinary team in identifying the spiritual needs of individuals and families, defining goals to address individual needs and providing the highest quality service to meet those needs. Undergraduate degree required. Master's degree in theology, divinity, or pastoral studies preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education and Ordained/licensed/commissioned ministers preferred. Minimum of two years or equivalent full time experience in bereavement counseling within the last five years and hospice experience preferred. Valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile, current automobile insurance and be willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job.
