Ministry Description Where do new churches come from? In the United Church of Christ, they come from core groups, from church planters, from existing congregations, and from Conferences with the vision to attend to new birth and growth. To get started as a church planter or developer, pray a lot. Listen to the still-speaking God. Get involved in the new church movement, or gain experience with a multiplying church or renewing church. Talk to your Conference Minister and with mentors. Contact the Center for Progressive renewal, to take the New Church Planter Assessment, and attend a training or utilize other programs that CPR makes available. There may be no money in it, no building, no glamour. But what there is can be blessed and multiply. Jesus called us to come along with him. Christ invites us to go forth to shape new relationships of faith in community. http://progressiverenewal.org/
