Ministry Description |
We are a small but active congregation that lives up to our mission of "living, serving and walking by faith for the benefit of the local and global community." We are an "open and affirming" church where EVERYBODY is welcome. We take our mission priorities seriously; our impact in our community and the wider world is greater than one might expect from a congregation of our size. We are a 5 for 5 mission Church...We also give to the Church World Service Blankets program, have put together hygiene kits for disaster relief and have a longstanding relationship with the Department of Children and Families in providing school supplies and holiday gifts to an increasing number of children in foster care. We have a community drop-off shed in our parking lot for deposit bottles and cans, raising thousands of dollars a year, all of which goes to various local needs in Waitsfield and surrounding towns. Five years ago, we began hosting free monthly Community Suppers in cooperation with various community partners. Averaging over 100 people in attendance, these suppers bring together community members from all socioeconomic and age groups, most of whom are not members of our church. |
