Ministry Description |
Community Congregational Church of Manitou Springs is a welcoming, inclusive, family-oriented church in Manitou Springs, CO (pop. 4,992) nestled at the foot of Pikes Peak on the west side of Colorado Springs (pop. 416,427). The congregation was called together in 1887 and occupies the same beautiful building that is part of the Manitou Springs Historical Register District. Manitou Springs is a storybook community known for its scenic setting, natural mineral springs, and many unique shops and restaurants. We practice our Christian Faith in many ways: Providing care packages to migrant workers and to an Indian Reservation, making quilts and blankets distributed via the Manitou Volunteer Fire Department and Westside CARES (WSC), an ecumenical and interfaith nonprofit collaboration of 22 religious fellowships. We have a representative to the WSC board and participate in many of their programs. We are approximately 80 paid members (2016) strong with many inter-generational members and average 60 in attendance for Sunday Worship. We are currently seeking a full-time called pastor who will bring us together as a congregation with a focus on growing our membership and strengthening our Christian Education program. We are committed to building our outreach to our congregation and community by supporting individuals and families with our Christian beliefs.
