Ministry Description |
St. John’s UCC, Mickleys strives to provide a loving, supportive environment where all people can grow as Christians, sharing our faith through education, fellowship, and service to the community, with Jesus Christ as our guide. St. John’s Mickleys has had very strong relationships between our pastors and our congregation and Consistory. Our previous two pastors served a combined total of over 35 years. Both retired from our church. We are looking forward to building a strong relationship with a new pastor. As a church and congregation, we have much to offer to our next pastor. First, our Consistory is the backbone of the church, working very closely with the pastor, providing management guidelines, goals and objectives, and setting the tone for the church. Second, our music program is a focal point of worship and includes a traditional and contemporary choir. Finally, we have a very dedicated Christian Education committee that has been working to adjust to the needs of our congregation. Our average Sunday attendance is 75. In order for our congregation to continue to grow and develop, we are searching for a pastor who is a visionary leader. We take pride in the fact that our congregation feels like one large family. We feel that with God's help, we can work together to accomplish our goals and our pastor will be able to lead us forward in order to keep our church a thriving and vital congregation dedicated to glorifying God and ministering to the needs of others. |
