Ministry Description |
Zion’s Stone Church is located in scenic West Penn Township which is one of the largest in Pennsylvania. Our founding fathers of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage established a church with both a German Reformed (predecessor to the United Church of Christ (U.C.C.)) and Lutheran congregation. Throughout our 225 years of service, the people of Zion’s worshipped together in the same church service. In 2005 we became one unified congregation incorporated as a federated church affiliated with both the U.C.C and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are seeking a caring and compassionate Pastor who will lead our congregation in worship which averages 133 people on Sundays. We have approximately 25 people involved in leadership positions who work with other volunteers. We are blessed to have an active and awesome youth group (about 30), a bell choir, youth choir and regular choir, dedicated Sunday School teachers, plus a very cooperative church board. We desire a Pastor who will shepherd us, who will deliver the good news with enthusiasm, creativity and a vision that relates the Word to our daily lives. There is a renewed spirit building within our congregation. The Pastor should be one who could uplift and encourage the growth of this spirit. We expect the Pastor to focus on developing pastoral relationships with the youth of our community and the elderly who seek pastoral visits in times of illness. Together we’ll be a shining light to our community through a church that is alive in Jesus Christ, our Savior. |
