Ministry Description |
The Little Home Church by the Wayside UCC seeks a full-time pastor. We are a congregation that typically has about 50 people in worship, with a membership of 242 and a need to reconnect with our inactive members. We are an open and affirming church, looking for ways to bring this message to the community. We are proud of our commitment to outreach and our strong and vibrant music ministry. We are in the midst of the New Beginnings process, with the hope of re-energizing our congregation and finding new ways to interact with and serve the community. We hope to call a pastor who will be excited and energized by the opportunities presented by our congregation and who will help us move forward in new ways.
We enjoy intellectually stimulating preaching and seek a minister who is accepting of different spiritual needs. We hope our new pastor will be sensitive and insightful, able to recognize and appreciate individual strengths and weaknesses, and utilize our gifts to rebuild in areas of decline, specifically membership, youth involvement and finances and fiscal strategy. We seek a pastor who will work collaboratively with our church council and our church staff. We wish to hire a pastor with awareness of the programs and messages offered by the UCC, and one who will help us further develop our identity as a member of the denomination. We hope to call a sociable pastor who likes to have fun! |
